Ask that condiments, beverages, and other food items be provided in bulk instead of individually packaged. Ensure food and beverage packaging is recyclable, and that it will be recycled.
BUY LOCAL: To avoid transportation of goods cost, for fresher produce, by support your local economy.
Request organic produce, and free run chicken/eggs/meats. Offer vegetarian meal selections; vegetables consume less land base and energy to produce.
RECYCLE: Pre-order meals to reduce food waste & cost. Pre-meal selection optoins will cut down on food wastage.
Arrange to have left over food donated to a local food bank or soup kitchen.

Ask your suppliers to use reusable tableware.
Choose centerpieces and decorations that can be reused, such as living plants.
ENERGY-EFFICIENCY VENUE: Replacing incandescent light bulbs with compact fluorescent light bulbs, visible recycling in guest rooms, purchase carbon offsets to mitigate the emissions caused by air travel "Native Energy"
